Chicago FUDG meets Tues. 11 Sep 2012
Chicago FUDG meets Tuesday, 11 September 2012 Our speaker, Eric Selje, appears from behind the Cheddar Curtain to teach us about "SSMS for Developers": We are developers, but a lot of us become de facto SQL Server administrators without getting any formal training. We may get by with only a shallow knowledge of the main tool we have for managing SQL Server, but it's time to dig a little deeper into SQL Server Management Studio. Do you really know what this seemingly simple tool can do? There's a lot more there than meets the eye. This is not a "Beginning in SQL Server" session, but rather a "How can I use SSMS more effectively." He will also discuss his second presentation, "Fox on the Run 2", a sequel to last year's SWFox session. This year he's drilling into one of the most common problems mobile developers have - how to sync any data entered in a mobile app with the main database. We're not always guaranteed internet connectivity, so how do we collect data offline and ensure it gets back to the main database? We'll look at a few different issues in this area and possible solutions. The time and place are 5:30pm Sept 111, 2012 @ Tech Nexus 200 S Wacker Dr Suite 1500
